about

Thanks For The Fish were a 4-piece band from Brisbane named after a Douglas Adams book. Formed in 1984, they enjoyed significant radio airplay on 4zzz and constant gigging around Brisbane. The group disbanded in 1989 after moving to Melbourne.

Initial lineup was Ray Luhrmann (guitar), Sean Dywer (bass) and Andy Wilmott (drums) with Trish Roberts (vocals) joining in July of 1984. Ray was then replaced by Andrew Shakespeare in May 1985 to form the lasting lineup. Other band names considered were, “Life After Life,” “Gravity’s Rain,” “121” and “Mood Room.”

This is a compilation of 3 of the 4 demo cassette recordings that Thanks For The Fish made between 1985 and 1987 which also includes the track “Who Needs Esperanto” from the 4zzz compilation "State Of Emergence".
