about

The original inception of Minus Life was formed early in 2002 by members Scott moss (Vox), Ryan O'Connell (Guitars) and Matt Bellette (Keyboards) with the intention of creating an original and modern style of heavy music.

Having shared previous experiences in other bands together the members were familiar with each other's styles, influences, creative ability and ambition. After much deliberation on whether or not a second guitar was needed to achieve a more traditional European sound, the band opted to utilise the keyboards as a dominant instrument, generating a highly orchestrated effect. With the recent addition of ex-Hollow bass guitarist Kent Haines and ex-Yuri drummer Travis Henderson, Minus Life have risen to the forefront of Australian Metal.

Minus Life have played shows with a musically diverse range of established metal acts such as Dark Tranquility, Testament, Nevermore, Arch Enemy, The Haunted, Wednesday 13, Psycroptic, Alarum, Alchemist, The Amenta, Devolved, The Berzerker, Pegazus & Blood Duster and have played festivals such as Metal For The Brain in Canberra, Brute Force Festival in Sydney, Overcranked, Market Day and Metal For The Brain.

Although it is somewhat difficult to describe their music, Minus Life have chosen to label their style as being 'Symphonic Death Metal'
