about

Victims Of Noah played and recorded music in Brisbane between 1991 and 1998. They began as the song-writing duo of Andy and Jason, who met in high school and jammed together in various versions of high school bands. In response to a 4ZZZ competition, they recorded a bastardised version of Jon English’s Six Ribbons and entered it under the name of Victims Of Noah. This was very well received and gained high rotation on 4ZZZ ending up #5 on that year’s ZZZ Hot 100, and led to their first live gig as Victims Of Noah at the ’93 ZZZ market day. At this stage Robbo had joined the band on drums and they played as a three-piece.

Victims of Noah gigged as a three piece for about a year and released a cassette called ‘Nails For Easter.’ Following this they added Naomi as a lead vocalist and gigged extensively as a four piece, recording and releasing their first CD, Patheticism in 1994.

They disbanded in late 1995 with Naomi pursuing other projects, most notably Tantrum, and the original three-piece line up gigging sporadically under the name of Starkas. With the Liberal Government looking like being re-elected in 1998 the three-piece line up recorded an EP entitled ‘Oh... The Humanity which featured a cover of Mr Floppy’s ‘Noonan’ that had been re-worked as ‘John Howard.’ The song received high rotation around the country on community radio stations like ZZZ, RRR, PBS etc.

To date, this release was the last thing the band did together… but they are all still alive, so who knows?
