The 'Out of the Bedroom' album was released on 14 February 2014 and is a compilation of cassette recordings made in early 1983 in Eugene’s bedroom in Macgregor along with some songs that were recorded at a 4ZZZ gig at Amyl’s Nightspace on 9 September, 1983.

Eugene and the Egg played around Brisbane from 1983 to 1984. They disbanded when Eugene left town in early 1985, reforming briefly in 1988 in Sydney to record tracks from the 'Music from the State of Corruption' compilation album.

With all three members back and living in Brisbane, the band reformed to play Real Bad Music at Moorooka in July 2014 and they have been together and playing gigs since then.

They released a 7 inch single, 'Going Up the River', in 2020.
